Hamilton-Wenham is a member of Essex County Youth Soccer Association (ECYSA) and our Travel program incorporates interleague play with other towns associated with ECYSA. Competition becomes more of a focus in the Travel age groups. In Hamilton-Wenham, all players will Travel once they reach Grade 3; we have no in-town Intramural beyond 2nd Grade.

 

Players are responsible to order a town uniform when registering for the Travel program for the first time, which consists of a jersey, shorts and socks.  Every new player to the Travel program will be issued a number as part of their first uniform order. This number will be associated with that player throughout their tenure in the Travel program.  Replacement jerseys and new uniforms will be issued with the same number. The league requires that every player on a team wear a unique number. Our numbering process is necessary to eliminate duplicate numbers within an age group. You must order and use ONLY the number assigned to your player by HWYSA. Numbers for all incoming Travel players will be issued immediately after registration closes. 

 

Rosters are prepared by the Age Group Coordinators and are coached by volunteer parents who have familiarized themselves with the ECYSA rules and attended the ECYSA coaches' introduction session (prior to the season start date). 

 

The fall season runs from early September through early November. There are no games over Indigenous Peoples' weekend. Teams play a total of 8 games each season with some home and some away at other ECYSA member towns.

 

The time commitment for each age group is as follows:

 

Grades 3-8 (2) practices during the week, (1) game on Saturday

 

If your child's age places him/her in a division different from their actual grade, please register for the grade division presented to you at registration and contact the Registrar at [email protected] to request a program transfer. Do not falsify your child's birthdate in order to manipulate the registration process. If your transfer request is approved by HWYSA, your child will be moved manually into the appropriate division by the Registrar.

 

Rostering for the Travel program begins immediately after the close of registration in order to comply with the ECYSA schedule for team submission. If you register after the deadline, HWYSA cannot guarantee your child's placement on a Travel team, and you will be assessed a $75 late fee. After the teams have been submitted to ECYSA, the late fee increases to $125.
